They are usually really expensive and the coverage is not good.
But I bought one with really high deduction for my parents. The intention
is to cover the major operations which can easily incur hudreds of thousand
dollars, so we don't go broke. For small issues like a cold/flu etc, it
doesn't make much of a difference if you pay out of pocket directly or you
pay for the insurance.
