现在二流学校的工科博士要毕业了，但是总是感觉，学到的东西很少。
不知道能不能再申请一个学校的博士，再读，相近专业的博士？原来是材料相关的，现
在想做一个EE的方向。
可能还是中国人的名校情节，总是想读个名校，做出点东西来，才觉得博士读的有意思。
大家有没有建议啊？

请问大家：如果J1豁免仍在办理（ie 使馆仍在审批No Objection)，但同时公司给续
了J1，可以联系使馆把新的DS2019补充寄过去吗？还是整个豁免就作废了？
公司正在考虑续J1，不知道能不能续成。现在J1只剩7个月，所以可能等不到J1续的结
果就要申请豁免。
万分感谢！

两人都是知兵之人，只是眼前手中连兵甲器械一概皆无，也没什么办法，只能催促快些
行船，到临海城中再做打算了。
这船本就轻快的很，船上的六七名护卫也都是极精悍的汉子，帆桨并用，十余里的
路程，不过一个多时辰便赶完了。高奉天取了银钱赏了那渔翁，便带领手下往州城赶去
。本来高奉天以为这临海虽然及不上杭州、越州那般富庶，可好歹也是一州刺史所在，
定然也是个人烟稠密的所在。可一路行过来，却只见道路上少有行人，道路两旁的肥沃
田亩也有许多抛荒了的，长满了杂草野谷，如果不是在道旁的亭驿上看到了离临海州城
不过三里的提示，高、王二人几乎以为是自己走错了道。
一行人过了亭驿，道旁不时出现些三五成群的汉子，这些人衣衫褴褛，拿着木棍短
刀等粗陋的武器，看着他们一行人的眼神又是阴森又是贪婪，与其说是农人，更像是些
强盗。如非高奉天行列中都是跨刀的精壮汉子，看样子并不好惹，只怕便已经围上来上
来打劫了。看到这般情形，高奉天的心中不禁生出一股悔意，他虽然在船上有听沈玉田
描述过台州的情形，可看眼前的情形，只怕现实比他想象的还要糟糕的多，那临海城中
之人居然连离城不到三里的近郊的治安都无法保证了，其力

觉得自己的背景太弱了，想学习一些课程。
Faculty 是不想了，Postdoc，估计也没有戏。
主要是想有个严格的工科博士的训练过程。

赞助J1博士后的公司不多，包括IBM Research, HP Labs, Microsoft Research,
Motorola。美国政府有一个J1 sponsor list在网上。

拿到两个phd之后，你打算往学术界还是工业界发展？？

倾向学术界吧，但是到时候学术界找不到教职只有去工业界了。

我感觉怎么有点儿复杂，最好的情况就是不要续J1,看看公司能否支持你H1B.

Thank you so much for your response.
I am assuming you have seen such transfer cases worked out for the waiver in
the past?
I am thinking 1) ask the embassy for NOL, and 2) only send materials to DOS,
until my J1 transfer is done (together with the new DS-2019 form). What do
you think?

It is fine.
My J waiver case lasted 22 months and I extended 2 times.
You can call Embassy Ms. Jinhua Xin if you already sent.

First step, Chinese Consulate in Houston waiver officer went to Beijing and
took vacation for 55 days and nobody processed J waiver case. My case
delayed 2-3 months in Houston.
Second step, after Embassy sent NOL, DOS received after 9 months and 3 days,
and other 57 cases got received NOL in 100 days, I was the only unlucky
person.
After 2 months DOS got NOL, I mailed DOS many times, and got Fax, DOS lost
all my documents and told me to resend everything.
Third step, USCIS processed my case for 6 months and after SR, my case got
approved after 3 weeks.
So totally my case lasted 22 months.
I so wish everyone is luck in J waiver case and I am willingly to share my
experience.

I did one time transfer and 2 times extension during 22 months.
