My understanding:
Before we thought 485 was held by 140, since 140 takes time, walk in FP won'
t speed up the 485 approval. Now it seems at TSC, once 485 process were
completed, 140 would get approved immediately (if not approved yet).

开机画面显示的是mx，不是mx2呀，是不是厂家用一代混事呢。找了好多地方，包括说
明书，包装，还有系统信息里面都不能证明是二代。
另外最新的firmware有了软关机，那开机怎么搞？还得去插拔电源？
好多细节的毛病，例如youtube的app播放时不能放大，sohu tv打开就闪退，letv，
cntv等等在store里都找不到。

the ASC office was closed on my appointed FP day becaues of weather reason,
I walked in and did FP the next day morning. I already received the cute
little green card.
A friend of mine (with the similar RD) waited for the new appointment (25
days later), he even didn't get EAD yet. He sweared if he had another chance
he would crawl there the next day morning.

搞得好像140就没有批的程序了似的。会不会是小样本统计出的有偏见结论？

mx1代2代用的是同样的firmware，软件上看不出区别，硬件上1代是铝壳，2代是塑料壳
，所以2代的wifi信号要好些。
至于那个软关机，应该只是你要转移mx2的时候才用，平时放在那里，反正基本不耗电
，不需要关机。不过似乎重启的功能更有用（不知道有没有，我的还没有收到）

See the new greened case on 3/19/2014.
This is another typical case at TSC:485 and 140 approved at the same time.
Obviously at TSC, for those EB2->EB3 case, once 485 got cleared, 140 would
be approved immediately, so 485 is not held by 140 anymore!
I posted a note that 'at TSC, walk-in FP is critial', as 485 is held by FP
instead of 140. Some people still said that's random case.
If you can did walk-in FP 2 weeks earlier, you would have bigger chance to
beat the remaining visa.

You might be right. But filing 140 PP is not just for speeding up 485
approval.
Should your dependant need to use AP/EAD an approved I-140 is big assurance.
just my 2 cents.
