Just my humble opinion:
She's a great writer in terms of literature but a lessor one in terms
of mystery.
She creates a lot of characters, presents them well, weaves them
successfully into complicated plots.
However,
her works do not have the exciting reconstruction/recount of a murder
at the ending, as most of Christie's works do (a most exciting case
in point would be Appointment with Death);
neither do her works contain the unconventional mystery element found
in Tey's works (e.g. Daugher of

个人认为 PDJ 的文字很好,不过看多了也有点重复。她的两个侦探
Adam Dalgliesh 和 Cordelia Gray 里面我更喜欢后者,不知道为什么
她只写了两本 CG 的书。

chasing somebody's tail here. ;) thought about reading murder in holy order
and name of the rose back to back (talk about endangered species!) but it
seems like pd jame's murder room and her early works are better liked by
the readers.
might as well finish my 'dune' first. :O~

:) I do like her novels a lot, next only to JA.
//hand hand I've been rererere-reading Agatha Christie lately too. Found
out something I haven't noticed much before - Agatha mentioned nursery
rhymes quite often in her novels.

hehe, PD James is herself a fan of JA, as far as I remember.
Yes, many many nursery rhymes in Christie's works, a lot of them used
as titles.
