I have contributed to SS tax for 10 years so far and I have GC ,
I am wondering if I go back China and eventually retrie in China,
can I still receive SS when I become eligible ?

可以的吧，美国人很多不也在国外退休，南美什么的，这跟你在哪里没有关系。

You do need GC or citizenship to qualify for SS benefit after you retire
even if you have accumulated 40 SS credits.
If you relinquish your GC you will need to reapply for it again later in
order to be eligible for SS benefit. You don't need to accumulate 40 credits
again (those credits stay with your SS number).
