I did it successfully to move the WINXP from my old desktop 3.5 inch interna
l hard drive to another big size internal hard drive by Norton Ghost 12.0.
Unfortunately I failed to do so for my laptop. Original I want to move my
old laptop system to a new and big 2.5 inch laptop hard drive, but Norton G
host report they don't support a removable hard disk as a backup destinatio
n. My laptop can only hold one internal hard drive. So I don't know what sho
uld I next...
Any suggestions? Thanks in

我用的ghost可以备份到外置硬盘。但是你这么克隆OS在不同的硬件
环境下有用么？

我现在用Norton Ghost 12.0. 它是可以很方便的备份我的笔记本硬盘到另外一个移动
硬盘上去.这主要用来防止笔记本硬盘坏了时候copy back到用来的硬盘.
不过我现在的问题是要将我原来40GB笔记本硬盘update 到160GB笔记本硬盘.Norton
Ghost 12.0有copy a hard drive option, 不过,它不能将连在IDE上的笔记本硬盘
copy 到连到
mobile device (比如说external 2.5 inch hard drive)上.所以我的理解是它只能
copy 连
在IDE 上的笔记本Hard drive A 到连在IDE　Ｌaptop Hard drive B, 不过我的笔记
本只能接一个IDE应硬盘呀，这下难倒我了．
By the way, 我用旧的3.5Inch Desktop Hard drive换过3个不同的主板(Just update

启动居然没有大问题．

if the system is crash (while laptop hard drive is still ok)
by norton ghost 12.0 , if you have a backup file in a seperate mobile extern
al h
ard drive, you can boot with norton ghost 12.0 CD and copy the image file to
the
original hard drive.
you don't　　need to reinstall

are u downloading a iso file? If yes, this CD is the bootable CD.
or you can run the program to generate a bootable CD.
I used dan ban at first and late purchased one. Both works fine.
