In today's Union Address, Obama said,
"Let's continue that progress with a smarter tax policy that stops giving $4
billion a year to fossil-fuel industries that don't need it, so that we can
invest more in fuels of the future that do," the president said.
The solar industry was one of the fastest growing sectors in the U.S. last
year, and grew 10 times faster than the average adding 24K new jobs.
2013 Q3 is the second largest quarter in the history of the U.S. solar
market and the largest quarter ever for residential PV installations. Even
more importantly, 2013 is likely to be the first time in more than 15 years
that the U.S. installs more solar capacity than world leader Germany.
That's perhaps part of the reason why solar stocks had been skyrocketing in
the last year.
