The Preschool Director is a full-time position reporting directly to the
Executive Director, he/she will be responsible for the delivery of SWAN
preschool educational program including classroom coordination, teachers
management, curriculum implementation and following responsibilities:
•Assist Executive Director to ensure preschool programs and goals are
implemented to support SWAN’s mission and objectives
•Work alongside the Educational Director in curriculum development and
design of curriculum materials
•Responsible for preschool day-to-day operation function
•Provide supervision, evaluation, support and instructional guidance
to preschool teachers and teacher assistants
•Ensure students’ academic, social, emotional and physical needs are
met
•Manage and execute education programs within budget parameters
•Responsible for preschool communication to parents
•Prepare and submit required reports and maintains accurate
programming records
•Participate in Quality Improvement Project
•Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences
designed to promote intellectual, social and physical welfare of students
•Performed other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Qualifications:
•A bachelor degree in Education, Early Childhood Education and/or
Child Psychology
•Two or more years’ of teaching experience in preschool or elementary
school setting
•Current Valid Certification issued by the State Education Department
pursuant to 8 NYCRR required
•Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment
•Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and
teachers
•Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to
education
•English/Chinese bilingual skills and bicultural capabilities
