like comp.lang.c, comp.lang.tcl ....
always says host not found ...
what's the problem ?
they are not open to public ?

your nntp server has a problem or your inews/Pnews have problems,
or you could have a configuration problem :D

i can access some other news groups like weking.com.cn,
why can't comp.* ?
any particular configuration needed for them?

I think that your news server is probably private. It doesn't carry
comp.*;
