We are working on a distributed application(client end, on Solaris 5.8), the
networking part is provided by a software package.This means the networking
details are hiden from us.
When we try to fork the appl. at runtime, the child process incurred some
problems, when the server start some synchronization procedure, some conflicts
happen.
This may be due to the inheritted opening ports, sockets from the parent
process
for example:
main(){
...
parent->initNetwork();//library, details unknown
pare
