是不是相当于windows server跟window 的差别？
在公司用的Solaris，在家用Ubuntu，不知道要不要换成Solaris反正现在是免费了

请问Ubuntu好用吗？
我为了给自己的pda装linux系统，需要给desktop也装linux系统
但是做了些research,这些linux desktop environment让我挑花眼了
有什么KDE, Xfce, GNOME, Ubuntu

如果不想折腾，那么ubuntu是很合适的。外观上kde比较华丽，定制更灵活，gnome,
xfce比较靠近苹果，简单朴素。归根到底，选择什么样的桌面环境其实取决于你想跑的
应用（当然，混合使用也没什么问题,只是要额外消耗硬盘安装另一个桌面应用依赖的
函数库）。
目前来说，最新的kde 4.1还在开发阶段，bug很多，建议回避。

xfce比较靠近苹果，简单朴素。归根到底，选择什么样的桌面环境其实取决于你想跑的

我的体会是商业unix比较linux，有更加完善的系统维护，调试和开发工具。linux 好
的地方是 kernel open source,用户群大，简单稳定．处理能力上，不知道ｉｂｍ的ｌ
ｉｎｕｘ服务器系统比较ｓｕｎ的高端服务器怎么样。家庭电脑还是用ｗｉｎｄｏｗｓ
吧。看个片子，聊聊天啥的方便。

我每天都希望Sun早点破产，那样我不要在支持Solaris。现在愿望实现了一半。
Solaris跟15年前真没有什么变化，与Linux相比太不方便了。有时候只好把文件copy到
Linux弄好后再搬回Solaris.

available, high performance commercial information systems, and be with
strong support by OS provider. If you want an operation system for self or
small-size system, use linux. Otherwise, use UNIX.
When I was working for banks, our linux system crashed approximately every
three month due to the long-time, high throughput applications, so we never
use linux for the core information system, such as credit card system.

Linux对高端的设备支持还是不足。。
而且我个人的感觉稳定性也不如Solaris.
