Hi, Guys
I work on upgrade my home theatre to blu-ray. ( yes, I know. i was traveling
in Mar. ) Then I find this Dolby TrueHD, which is claimed as lossless
sound. The problem is that my AVR, DENON 3805 doesn't have HDMI. If i want
to have the TrueHD, i will have to get a blu-ray player decode it and send
through the 7.1 analog output. Just to make it more confusing, i only have 5
speakers connecting with my AVR.
Here are my questions:
1. Does the Dolby TrueHD sound so much better than DD5.1 or DTS in my 5
speakers setup? Is it worth the effort to make it work or buy a new receiver
? ( I kinna like my 3805)
2. If the answer is yes, then what happen to those 7.1 analog signal inputs
to my Denon 3805? Since i only have 5 speakers, would Denon process and
compress it again so that I eventually get some mixed lossy sounds？
3. If I can still get the nice lossless sound, any good blu-ray players you
can recommend? I know Oppo offers this capability but they are kinna costly.

（底特律领事馆的）网页上说：如果目的是去美国领事馆签证，那么签加拿大证的时候
，必须出示已经预约到该领事馆的
签证名额的证明。
可是，美国签证预约也很难，一时半会约不上。也不能老等着呀。我想先把去加拿大的
签证办了。有什么办法么，或者直
接忽视那个规定？

I used to have similar setup, Oppo 93 decode and output 5.1 analog signal to
my Lexicon receiver.
1. yes, lossless is always better than the lossy DTS/DD ,but whether you can
tell the difference or not depending on your system and your ear.
2. typically blu-ray player can mixed the 7.1 into 5.1 output, at least my
oppo player does it.
but I don't recommend using analog output to receiver because of the extra A
/D convert process unless your receiver is excellent doing A/D convert.
Denon 3805's analog 5.1 input probably is not that good.
anyway, you can give a try and do your own comparison between 5.1 analog
output and DD/DTS 5.1.
3. oppo 93 is very nice and not expensive,price is dropping since new
version 103/105 is released
if your speaker is nice and you want better sound,then upgrade to a
receiver with hdmi is the way to go.

You should refresh the page at least 10 times a day, try all locations.
Ottawa is relatively easier. Just settle for any day/place for now and
bring the confirmation page to the Canadian consulate, and you can change
the appointment date and location later.

我有个JVC的蓝光机，接的是Onkyo的receiver，这个receiver是带trueHD解码功能的，
然后receiver接了5.1的系统。
我有一张蓝光碟，里面有一个英文的音轨是true HD7.1的，如果我用这个音轨，就没有
声音，如果用2.0或者其他语种非trueHD的就有声音
请问这个问题在什么地方？蓝光机本身需要truHD的解码么？感觉不需要啊，还是需要接
成7.1的音箱才行？

I think Ottawa is the most difficult one. I would like to reserve a
position at Ottawa in June. I refreshed the web page thousands of time last
week. I saw several positions in June in other consulates except Ottawa. The
dates that are availabe in Ottawa are only May 17 and 18, but my materials
have not been ready yet.

如果receiver 能解 TrueHD, 那么7.1 和5.1 应该都是可以解的.
如果所有的7.1 trueHD 都没声音,我倾向于是 receiver 设置问题. 同时再查查蓝光机
的设置.
如果只有这张碟没声音,那就是碟本身的问题了.

就像在国内办护照，你的理由可以是去日本玩，也可以是去美国留学，拿到的都是同样
的护照，只是去
美国留学要交若干培养费。

刚又看了一下，我前面说的不准确，这个碟的音轨设置跟别的碟不一样
碟是Walk the line
主音轨是5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio，别的音轨有English Stereo，Spanish 5.1DOLBY
digital之类
播放的时候Receiver上面那个DTS-HD Master Audio的display是出来的，但是没有声音
，换成别的音轨都没有问题
想起来我现在这个设置低音炮没连着，这个有影响么？【 在 wait (玩物丧志了) 的大

前一阵没线，刚连上试了一下，出声，不过还是有问题。
记得以前True HD Master Audio的红灯会亮，就是没声音。刚看说明书，True HD Mast
er Audio不需要7.1，本身这个碟的音轨也就是5.1，所以我的配置5.1也就够了。不过R
eceiver说明书上说这个应该是在multi channel底下，可是我只要按了multi channel的
键，声音就没了，影院的其他auido模式也调不出来。试了另外一张有Master Audio的也
是一样，搞不明白了。不过也无所谓了
