onsite 面试了个学校，面试的director在邮件里说给offer，原话是这么说的"I
expect we will be able to contact you soon with the formal offer" 但一个星期
多了还没有拿到正式 offer。也没有提工资， background check， H1b的问题，所以
有点担心。这正常吗？是不是学校办事效率低些，所以慢些？大家一般等多久拿到正式
的 offer啊？因为实在等得太焦急了，谢谢了先。

兄弟现在美国。老板突然要我两周后去奥地利开会，临时匆忙，办签证时间很紧张。貌
似奥地利签证预约就得提前两周，已经来不及了，所以希望通过办旅游签证走。本人回
美签证没有问题。
我打算去一个申根国签旅游签证，订机票是从美国到该申根国，然后再转机去奥地利。
大家给个建议去哪个国家签能够在两周内搞定？另外，兄弟在一个鸟不下蛋的地方工作
，如果去面签还得为此坐趟飞机。所以想问现在还有那个申根国签证不需面签？以前瑞
士貌似不用，可惜今年5月份开始也要求面签了。另外我在2012和2013年去过英国开会
，2014年去过瑞士开会，所以有这些国家的过期签证，不知道是否能用上？
多谢各位大侠指教。

我四个星期前发给系主任的startup needs，到现在还没有消息，为什么这么久？

别的国家不知道，西班牙的你就不要指望了

你已经拿到正式的 offer 了吗？大概等了多久拿到的？学校办事效率真是低啊。

去别的领事馆网页上看看不就行了？德国领事馆可以网上查availability.

还没有，他也没有让我是否接受这个offer，难道大家都是在拿到official的offer之后

I accept before they sent official offer. If you do not accept, they will
not prepare official letter since it need several signatures

但是系主任都没有问我是否接受，这是什么情况？难道给几个candidate发信要准备
startup needs？

they are slow for sure, you could send email to the head to ask when could
you receive the official offer and ask them the deadline to accept their
offer. If you have no other offer, you could accept earlier.

谢谢建议。你认为他们会同时给几个candidates要求提供startup needs吗？他们告诉
我排名第一，说要和我在两周内讨论startup，现在都快有一个月了，唉！

it does not hurt to ask them "when you are convenient to discus the startup
or when I receive official offer etc" I do not think they contact many
candidate at the same time, they should only contact 1st one, except you
deny its offer or they could not afford.

希望借你吉言。本来说要最近讨论startup的，不知道为什么现在这么慢，我提的是大
概$500K的仪器，这个对于工学院应该还正常吧

余地，一般情况需要这么久吗？现在非常不淡定。你认为我需要再问吗？

我昨天接到这个电话了，给了工资问是否满意，还问了什么时候可以上班，H1B的问题
，还是没有给我正式offer.也没有问我是否接受这个offer.
