就是一般受过本科教育，有点文化的人，可以随便说几句的？
中国三岁小孩就能说上两句李白杜甫苏东坡的诗词。在社会各个领域，食品，建筑，地
名，等，稍微有点文化的人都能引出一个典故，一个诗句，一个成语。在美国英国，一
般老百姓平时对话的时候，是不是也能时不时说出一些莎士比亚的某个sonnet某句, 什
么英雄双行体，一般美国人英国人平时引用吗？除了那句“to be or not to be",还有
什么脍炙人口家喻户晓的名句？

英语诗人太多了，但是大多不是美国的，你要往英国找。
美国比较出名的，就是庞德。这老兄是李白的脑残粉，照着唐诗的写意格调写了不少现
代诗，比如：
The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough
这就不照抄了，楼主自己到wiki看吧。

你不能用中文诗歌的格式来看待英文诗歌，中文是一个字一个词，可以讲平仄，英文不
可能一个音节一个音节对仗，也许英文没有达到那么好的程度，很难理解英文在母语人
士的头脑里头引起的美感

英文詩感覺唸著唸著就要睡著了。中文詩的節奏、壓韻、聲調表現出很強的樂感。
法文詩也比英文要好聽得多。
