The Committee have finalized donations process. Below are the two options:
#1, Donate to Yin Yu (Alex) Family Education Fund via ACCEF(American
Chinese Culture and Education Foundation)
So your check will be Paid to ACCEF, Memo: Yin Yu (Alex) Family Education
Fund”
You can do cash donations as well to this foundation with the “Yin Yu (Alex
) Family Education Fund” specified.
If you donate to the Family fund via ACCEF, Qualcomm and some other
companies can match your donations 100% and it will be tax deductible to you
as well. Please see details below. It will help out Alex’s family much
more than just writing a personal check. Please do not forget to request
Qualcomm matching.
Alex’s Memorial service is on Saturday. Separate announcement will be sent
out.

For folks who want to donate and they do not work at Qualcomm, it would be

money in China. It will come very soon. However this will get us started.

share with your co-workers and your friends. The power of people is

ACCEF.
2. If you donate over $50, Qualcomm will match. So ball park the
total will be $100 if you donate $50. However, the cost to you will be about
$25 considering the highest bracket of Fed and State tax. So it is ball
park 4 times. There are some fees involved when we go through the
foundation. 15% of the matching fund (only the matching fund) will be used
for Foundation administration. However, it is still much better than if you
write a check to his wife directly as you will not get no tax benefits if
you write a check to his wife directly.
