They have increased the on-campus parking monthly fee for this year. If you're a student, I think that the on-campus parking is not very expensive. If you're a postdoc, you can park on the off-campus parking lots (at least two lots available), then take the shuttle to the campus. However, you need to get a pass from the business office in advance. It's not always easy to get one whenever you want. You can park your car on the streets without parking meters nearby the medical campus. However, other people do the same thing too, so you can have to get there early to have your spot. It's not always safe to do so to yourself and/or car. However, the on-campus parking garages are free to postdocs and students after 4 pm on workdays and always free on weekends and holidays. You just need to swipe your badge to enter or exit the garage. If you're a faculty member, I think that you can afford the on-campus parking. By the way, some PIs do park off-site.
