Exempt employee:
Computer professionals: Section 13(a)(17) of the FLSA provides that
certain computer professionals paid at least $27.63 per hour are
exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
This basically means if you work in IT industry and get paid more
than $57.5k a year, you shouldn't expect to get paid for overtime.
Also, it should not be a surprise that exempt staff are expected to
work as long as it takes to get their work done – and they need to
know that their employer expects
