梵高名画《向日葵》被环保人士泼番茄汁……

当地时间10月14日中午11时，英国国家美术馆收藏的梵高名作《向日葵》（Sunflowers），被两名环保组织成员泼了两罐番茄汤罐头。

Protesters on Friday morning hurled two cans of tomato soup at Vincent van Gogh's iconic 1888 "Sunflowers" painting in London’s National Gallery.

梵高名画《向日葵》险些被毁，幸好一层玻璃保护。事件一出，立即登上微博热搜，引发网友热议。

社交网络上流传的视频显示，两位抗议者身着印有 “停止石油（Just Stop Oil）”字样的T恤，在往名画上泼完番茄罐头后，两人把手粘在了画作下方的墙上以示抗议。

Two protesters, wearing "Just Stop Oil" T-shirts and still clutching the empty soup cans, appeared to glue themselves to the wall space beneath the painting. Directly above them, abstract smears of viscous soup dripped down the glass covering the masterpiece.

“停止石油”是一个反对化石燃料开采的环保组织，两人此举旨在吸引关注，敦促英国政府停止新的石油和天然气项目。

The Just Stop Oil activists were making a statement against fossil fuel extraction, urging the British government to halt new oil and gas projects.

视频中，其中一人大声质问在场媒体：“艺术和生命，哪个更有价值？”“艺术的价值难道高于食物，高过正义吗？”

"What is worth more, art or life?" one activist yelled. "Is it worth more than food? More than justice?"

据悉，英国国家美术馆收藏的这幅《花瓶里的十五朵向日葵》是梵高《向日葵》系列现存的6幅画作之一，价值约7250万英镑（约合5.86亿人民币）。其他5幅分别藏于德国慕尼黑新美术馆、英国国家美术馆、日本东京兴亚美术馆、荷兰阿姆斯特丹梵高博物馆、美国费城美术馆，还有一幅被个人收藏。

英国国家美术馆证实了陈列《向日葵》的43号展厅发生了意外事故，并更新了馆内情况。据该馆的声明，因这幅画表面有一层玻璃保护且画作已上釉，所以仅画框有一些轻微损坏，画作完好无损。

In a statement posted on Twitter, the National Gallery confirmed the incident in Room 43, where "Sunflowers" was displayed, and gave an update on its condition.

"There is some minor damage to the frame but the painting is unharmed," it said. In a subsequent tweet, the gallery explained that the painting was glazed and therefore protected.

Friday's incident is the latest in a series of protests targeting famous works of art in a bid to draw attention to the role of fossil fuels in climate change.
