Leadership Next Gen is open | Paid fellowship for students
CARE and Commonwealth Seminar announces the Leadership Next Gen paid fellowship for high school and college students.
The Leadership Next Gen Fellowship is a joint fellowship program offered by the Coalition for Anti-Racism and Equity (CARE) and Commonwealth Seminar for high school and college students (Fellows) from underrepresented communities of color for opportunities to learn and develop practical civic engagement and leadership tools, engage in their communities, and provide in-person, real-life exposure and experience in legislative offices.The minimum age to apply is 16.
The program will include placement of these Fellows in local, state, and federal government offices which will be combined with placements in various community-based organizations (CBOs), so that Fellows will receive exposure, skills and networks which they can integrate to make them more effective leaders and advocates for their communities.
In addition to these placements, each Fellow wil be enrolled in the Commonwealth Seminar's civic engagement program which will offer them legislative training, networking opportunities with top policymakers, and access to the Seminar's 1,600+ member alumni network.
Each Fellow will have a CARE mentor as well as a weekly check-in with CAREthroughout the program. Fellows will be awarded a $2000 stipend on completion of the program.
