This position is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of UK-China collaboration on forests, biodiversity and the environment. Working closely with colleagues in both the China network and across the global and UK network, you will play a key role in shaping the development of the UK’s partnership with China on its overseas footprint on forests and nature in tropical developing countries, in particular linked to trade and investments in timber and other commodity supply chains that put forests at risk. You will lead on the development and implementation of the future Forest Governance, Market and Climate (FGMC) Programme-related activities related to China’s footprint connecting to FGMC’s network in developing countries. You will lead on FGMC’s engagement with stakeholders in China, in particular government counterparts, think-tanks, CSO and private sector associations and through this coalition of practitioners seek to influence engagement in developing countries.
