美国国际残障人士权利特别顾问（U.S. Special Advisor on International Disability Rights）萨拉·明卡拉（Sara Minkara）和美国劳工部（Department of Labor ）主管残障人士就业政策的助理部长（Assistant Secretary for Disability Employment Policy）塔伦·威廉姆斯（Taryn Williams）与中国残疾人联合会举行会晤，以恢复美中残障事务协调会议（U.S.-China Coordination Meeting on Disability），并推动在包容性教育、就业、康复以及发展可及且无障碍的环境方面的残障人士权利。 

特别顾问强调了美国致力于寻找合作领域，以在美国和中华人民共和国增进残障人士的权利。她分享了美国目前为解决残障人士所关切的无障碍可及性和包容性教育等关键问题所做的努力，其中包括为接受高等教育创造机会。助理部长威廉姆斯讨论了美国在利用技术和人工智能为美国劳动力创造新的实质性就业机会方面取得的成功。 

特别顾问和助理部长还讨论了将残障人士纳入任何可能影响残障人士的政策、项目或立法的重要性。美国和中国残疾人联合会一致认为，继续寻求潜在的合作领域作为保持开放渠道的持续努力的组成部分具有重要意义。

U.S. Special Advisor on International Disability Rights Sara Minkara and Department of Labor Assistant Secretary for Disability Employment Policy Taryn Williams met with the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF) to resume the U.S.-China Coordination Meeting on Disability, and to advance disability rights with respect to inclusive education, employment, rehabilitation, and the development of accessible, barrier-free environments.

The Special Advisor underscored U.S. commitment to finding areas of collaboration to advance disability rights in the United States and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). She shared ongoing U.S. efforts to address key issues of concern for persons with disabilities in the United States regarding barrier-free accessibility and inclusive education, including creating opportunities for higher education. Assistant Secretary Williams discussed U.S. success in leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to create new and meaningful employment opportunities for the U.S. workforce.

The Special Advisor and Assistant Secretary also discussed the importance of involving persons with disabilities in any policy, program, or legislation that will impact persons with disabilities. The United States and CDPF agreed on the importance of continuing to seek out potential areas of cooperation as part of ongoing efforts to maintain open channels.
