"And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen, President Putin," Biden said, referring to Zelenskiy.
While correcting himself about two seconds later, Biden added: "President Putin, you're going to beat President Putin, President Zelenskiy. I am so focused on beating Putin."
Biden’s stumble will garner significant attention as he fends off calls within his party to step aside as the Democratic nominee in November, following his debate performance last month.
Democrats have expressed concerns Biden lacks the mental sharpness and stamina to vigorously campaign against former president Trump and make a successful case to the American public.
