现在正值一年一度的faculty position hiring season.我目前的postdoc是一年一
renew.现在看到有些合适的faculty position想申请，根据大家的经验我可以找现在博
后的老板写推荐信吗？如果让他写推荐信，他会不会觉得我做这里干得不专心，下一年
就不给我renew了呀？万一今年找不到position,他又不renew我，我不是就悲剧了吗。
。。

There are a lot of good books at

But it's hard to get points, they don't honor what they say: by comments and
by uploading... eventually they want money. :-)
It's okay to pay them some money, but there is no secure way to do that.
Is there any way to go around that?

If your boss is reasonable (and I believe most are), s/he should not expect
you to be in his lab forever. You should have a sense from what happened to
past members. I suggest you have a talk with your boss about your career
plan and get a feeling of what he thinks.

It is much easier to get points if you upload some documents to the site,
since each download will give you points.

个人意见，从他自身利益来说肯定是要支持你当PI。
第一，你作为一个PI的能量比当他薄厚能量要大的多。薄厚可以再招，但是想要找一个
业内跟自己知根知底一条心的PI课不容易
第二，你当了PI不代表你以后就跟他拜拜了。你还是可以跟他合作，帮他指导学生，讨
论问题。
第三，他培养了一个PI这是他的成绩。他申请funding, 吸引学生和未来薄厚，个人升
级，都是要拿出来说的数据。
而且我觉得招薄厚的时候就知道招的人是要当发考题的。要不然干个薄厚干啥。
