前阵子去job fair，随便投了一个大公司的Financial Software Developer，因为看
职位的description 说欢迎工程类的BS/MS/PhD，现在对方发信说要安排电面。
待遇先不谈，我是EE的PhD，如果做这种职位，是不是基本上扔掉本专业了？有没有发

"As I speculated this weekend, it looks like the rumor is confirmed and the
Radisson Big Night Giveaway is back!
As the landing page suggests, registration will open in a little over seven
days – at midnight Eastern on May 15th. Last time I stayed up until
midnight Eastern (Tweeting along with other miles and points junkies the
whole time), but registration stayed for what seemed like weeks after that,
so the slumber party wasn’t really necessary. Though I still may do it
again just to be safe – especially since properties world wide now seem to
be eligible.
The landing page has limited info, but according to this Flyertalk thread (
the same thread who brought us the initial speculation), here are some
possible terms and conditions:
The Big Night Giveaway Promotion (“Promotion”) is available only to
Club Carlson members. To be eligible for the Promotion, members must
register online for the Promotion at http://www.radissonbignightgiveaway.com (“Promotion Registration”), provide their Club Carlson member number at the time of reservation or check-in of the Qualifying Stay, and then complete one Qualifying Stay at any Radisson or Radisson Blu hotel worldwide (“Participating Hotels”). Guest must check in for the Qualifying Stay on or after May 15, 2012 and check out must be completed no later than July 15, 2012 (“Promotion Period”). A “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a stay of one or more consecutive nights in the same room at a Participating Hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or check-outs on a rate for which Gold Points are awarded in accordance with the Club Carlson Program Terms and Conditions.
Guest must be present at the Participating Hotel at both the time of
check-in and check-out, enrolled in Club Carlson at or before the time of
check-in, and registered in the Promotion no later than the time of check-
out (to enroll in Club Carlson, visit www.clubcarlson.com). The first 100,
000 guests who complete the Promotion Registration will receive 50,000 Bonus
Gold Points after the completion of their Qualifying Stay. After the first
100,000 Promotion Registrations, every guest who completes the Promotion
Registration will receive 15,000 Bonus Gold Points after the completion of
his/her Qualifying Stay. These Bonus Gold Points are in addition to the
standard Gold Points awarded for a stay. Only one Club Carlson account per
Qualifying Stay will be credited with the Bonus Gold Points.
Maximum of one Bonus Gold Point award will be credited to a member with
a Qualifying Stay under the Promotion regardless of the number of Qualifying
Stays completed by the member during the Promotion Period. Allow 6-8 weeks
for the Bonus Gold Points to post to the member’s account. The Promotion
and Gold Points are subject to all Club Carlson Program Terms and Conditions
. Rates for each night of a Qualifying Stay may vary. Promotion is not valid
on existing reservations and is subject to availability.
I can’t swear those are the exact terms, but this thread seems to be
correct more often than it is wrong, so I’m betting this is pretty much
correct. The highlights that I see in terms are:
You must check-in and check-out in person
Limited to first 100,000 to register
One bonus per Club Carlson account
Not valid on existing reservations
Valid on stays May 15 – July 15
Stay at any Radisson or Radisson Blu Worldwide (last time as just the US
, Canada, and the Caribbean)
This is a fantastic promotion, and I know I turned my approximately $100
stay into hundreds of dollars worth of redemptions in Europe for an upcoming
trip. Since there is no Radisson Hotel where I live, I will have to be
strategic about how to best participate in the promo this year and align it
with some of my other travel plans. At least we have a couple months time
frame to work with here. More details and earning/redeeming info to come
soon! As a redemption warm-up, here is their award chart. As you can see,
50,000 points can get you a Club Carlson room anywhere in the world, or it
can potentially get you several nights at the lower levels. If you aren’t

家附近全天的daycare都要上千美金。有点超出预算。但是又想多让娃锻炼锻炼。
早上继续现在的蒙校，9点-12点。一个月483美金。
刚才看离家10mile的一个rec center办的Kid’s Play for Preschoolers的program有
下午1-4点的program，一个星期3天 MWF。一个月233美金。一个星期两天的是100多美
金。而且正好可以带着老二在那里玩一下，等着老大上完课一起回家，这样老二也可以
经常在外面玩了。
这样安排不知道好不好呢？孩子去两个地方上preschool好还是不好呢？
请指点一下吧。谢谢了！

我PhD期间做过很多数值模拟和高性能计算（HPC）可能是他们对我感兴趣的原因吧
但申绿卡走EB1的话， Financial Software Developer应该和我专业就无关了吧？

是有点赶，不过我觉得想尝试一下。多给孩子锻炼的机会，他太认生了，蒙校的环境有
时候觉得不太适合他，因为都各自忙各自的。他独立能力已经不错了，需要跟别人互动
，可能play性质的比较好一些。是么？

既然觉得蒙校不合适, 为什么不换所合适的Preschool?
我觉得上半天的preschool足够了, 下午睡睡午觉, free play下下就过去了. 没必要来
回折腾.

Thanks to a very interesting comment on this post by Tim2, I learned that
Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson may be doing their own version
of a Big Night Giveaway – only for 44,000 points instead of 50,000 points.
However, the 6,000 point trade-off will be worth it to many who don’t
have a Radisson or Radisson Blu in their area. This would open this promo
up to even more folks!
What we don’t know yet is if you could only do one of the promos, or if you
would be able to do different ones from different chains. Your guess is as
good as mine on that one, but either way I am excited to see more options
for this emerge!

么？
这个program具体是怎么run的？领着孩子们蹦蹦跳跳？做手工？读书认字？

9月的生日，刚3岁多一点。去了一个多月，老师说不说话。。。比较人生害羞的娃。下
午回来精神的很。这个rec center的地方网站上写的是：Kid’s Play for
Preschoolers is a program established to provide a safe and nurturing
environment where children can develop emotionally, socially and
intellectually through appropriate experiences.
We believe children learn best through play; therefore hands-on activities
which enhance learning, promote independence, and foster a positive self-
image are provided.
具体玩什么不清楚，今天刚查到，打电话问了一下，还得去那里注册才行，还有不到10
个位子了，记得以前听说过还有在游泳池里玩水的活动。
老二17个月了。下午一般都会睡一觉。这确实是一个问题。。。以后过几个月打算把蒙
校那边停了，不过还没想好。。。只是有这个想法

一直在找阿，当时也不太清楚蒙校怎么回事，也不是冲着蒙校去的。普通的都满了，或
者条件不好。急着送孩子上preschool就挑了一个离家近，有位子，环境不错的。不去
怎么知道合不合适呢。孩子倒是没说不喜欢，还继续上着，主要是想锻炼孩子说话和跟
人交流互动，那里感觉孩子锻炼的机会不多。

我觉得你有点性急啊, 娃娃还小啊, 才三岁, 慢慢就会pick up的, 你又有老二, 拖着
老二次到处跑, 满辛苦的, 不如你自己在家陪他读读书, 看看英文动画片, 玩玩
pretended play的.
对了, 我的两个孩子都是半天preschool上上来的, 三岁的时候还只上三个半天, 四岁
了才上五个半天. 四岁之后小朋友的各项能力, 与人交往, 对话都是有很大提高的, 前
面一年是个慢慢积累过程.

我真的是有点急了。。。
要真是这样就好了，我家的娃就是不跟外人说话，喜欢别人来家里玩，人家来了他很激
动很开心，也跟人家玩，但是只限于肢体，比如扔球玩，给别人拿东西玩。也喜欢去别
人家里玩，可是就是不开口跟别人讲话，都肢体。。。在家里说话倒是没问题。所以我
愁啊。。。前几天都想去找医生问问了，这到底咋回事，被我老公批了一通。。。

我们差不多，都是为了提高英文还有让她和别的孩子互动。
找的是co-op学校。别的已经满了要不就是太贵。
明年9月换教堂办的preschool,上3天。

打了customer电话确认设置正确的，今天终于找到可能的原因是我把打印机设置成
public access的了，然后用的默认密码没改，多半是有其他人进到打印机的网页打
印了这些report

性格吧, 需要warm up的时间比较多, 对陌生的环境或者人还是有警惕感. 这个随着年
龄的增长慢慢就好了.

There's debate about the value of CC points (see this thread on valuation).
If you redeem 50k points at a $500 property in Paris, your points can be
worth 1cpp. More typical redemptions will yield values of perhaps .5-.8cpp,
and exceptional values can be much higher. Now, is this worth going out of
your way for? Diverting a business trip from another chain will probably be
a no-brainer for most travelers (as this is a rather promo-poor summer), and
if you're considering doing a mattress run you should do the math and
figure out whether it's worth the investment.

"As I speculated this weekend, it looks like the rumor is confirmed and the
Radisson Big Night Giveaway is back!
As the landing page suggests, registration will open in a little over seven
days – at midnight Eastern on May 15th. Last time I stayed up until
midnight Eastern (Tweeting along with other miles and points junkies the
whole time), but registration stayed for what seemed like weeks after that,
so the slumber party wasn’t really necessary. Though I still may do it
again just to be safe – especially since properties world wide now seem to
be eligible.
The landing page has limited info, but according to this Flyertalk thread (
the same thread who brought us the initial speculation), here are some
possible terms and conditions:
The Big Night Giveaway Promotion (“Promotion”) is available only to
Club Carlson members. To be eligible for the Promotion, members must
register online for the Promotion at http://www.radissonbignightgiveaway.com (“Promotion Registration”), provide their Club Carlson member number at the time of reservation or check-in of the Qualifying Stay, and then complete one Qualifying Stay at any Radisson or Radisson Blu hotel worldwide (“Participating Hotels”). Guest must check in for the Qualifying Stay on or after May 15, 2012 and check out must be completed no later than July 15, 2012 (“Promotion Period”). A “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a stay of one or more consecutive nights in the same room at a Participating Hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or check-outs on a rate for which Gold Points are awarded in accordance with the Club Carlson Program Terms and Conditions.
Guest must be present at the Participating Hotel at both the time of
check-in and check-out, enrolled in Club Carlson at or before the time of
check-in, and registered in the Promotion no later than the time of check-
out (to enroll in Club Carlson, visit www.clubcarlson.com). The first 100,
000 guests who complete the Promotion Registration will receive 50,000 Bonus
Gold Points after the completion of their Qualifying Stay. After the first
100,000 Promotion Registrations, every guest who completes the Promotion
Registration will receive 15,000 Bonus Gold Points after the completion of
his/her Qualifying Stay. These Bonus Gold Points are in addition to the
standard Gold Points awarded for a stay. Only one Club Carlson account per
Qualifying Stay will be credited with the Bonus Gold Points.
Maximum of one Bonus Gold Point award will be credited to a member with
a Qualifying Stay under the Promotion regardless of the number of Qualifying
Stays completed by the member during the Promotion Period. Allow 6-8 weeks
for the Bonus Gold Points to post to the member’s account. The Promotion
and Gold Points are subject to all Club Carlson Program Terms and Conditions
. Rates for each night of a Qualifying Stay may vary. Promotion is not valid
on existing reservations and is subject to availability.
I can’t swear those are the exact terms, but this thread seems to be
correct more often than it is wrong, so I’m betting this is pretty much
correct. The highlights that I see in terms are:
You must check-in and check-out in person
Limited to first 100,000 to register
One bonus per Club Carlson account
Not valid on existing reservations
Valid on stays May 15 – July 15
Stay at any Radisson or Radisson Blu Worldwide (last time as just the US
, Canada, and the Caribbean)
This is a fantastic promotion, and I know I turned my approximately $100
stay into hundreds of dollars worth of redemptions in Europe for an upcoming
trip. Since there is no Radisson Hotel where I live, I will have to be
strategic about how to best participate in the promo this year and align it
with some of my other travel plans. At least we have a couple months time
frame to work with here. More details and earning/redeeming info to come
soon! As a redemption warm-up, here is their award chart. As you can see,
50,000 points can get you a Club Carlson room anywhere in the world, or it
can potentially get you several nights at the lower levels. If you aren’t
already a Club Carlson member, you can join here and get 4,500 bonus points
(must do so by May 31st).

Thanks to a very interesting comment on this post by Tim2, I learned that
Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson may be doing their own version
of a Big Night Giveaway – only for 44,000 points instead of 50,000 points.
However, the 6,000 point trade-off will be worth it to many who don’t
have a Radisson or Radisson Blu in their area. This would open this promo
up to even more folks!
What we don’t know yet is if you could only do one of the promos, or if you
would be able to do different ones from different chains. Your guess is as
good as mine on that one, but either way I am excited to see more options
for this emerge!
