The role will be for a strong individual contributor with high level of
knowledge in microbial genetics, molecular biology, and microbial physiology
, responsible for new bacterial strain development. This role will require
working in the laboratory, as well as providing strategic direction to
projects. Knowledge of molecular biology techniques is essential. Role
will also support protection of intellectual property by assisting with
patent applications and processing. The role can also support and lead small
scale fermentation trials and GTI research projects as required.
Individual contributor with high level of knowledge in microbiology,
molecular biology, and microbial physiology.
Develops and applies knowledge and expertise to implement and/or improve
tools, techniques and work processes
Solves problems and issues requiring a high level of technical knowledge and
consideration of other disciplines
Creates, analyses, recommends new methods, techniques and/or processes
Proactively identifies problems and develops solutions
Serves on teams focused on highly complex or specialized strain development
or microbiology projects
May manage small team and/or leads GTI projects
Liaises with legal department on patents regarding strain development and
fermentation
Writes/reviews definitive publications of significant scientific importance
Masters/PhD degree in Microbial Genetics, Molecular Biology or Microbial
Physiology
5 years experience within biotechnology as a microbial geneticist or
molecular biologist
