很不明白MBA是怎么分专业的# Business - 商学院

我，国内本科，然后在这里phd, 然后打算postdoc.
我还想拿个MBA.
现在的问题：
1.没有工作经验。如果要申请好一些的program都要挺牛的公司的工作经验。我很犹豫
要不要找个工作先。postdoc算工作经验吗？如果是本校的postdoc有帮助吗？回国当大
学老师算工作经验吗？
2.MBA是怎么分专业的。我感觉都差不多啊。很不明白自己将来要干什么，但是就是不
愿意教书。

还有，EMBA和MBA有什么去别啊？
我知道我的问题太幼稚，可是不知道能去哪里做做功课再回来讨论。

MBA majors: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Venture capital, supply chain,
general administration, etc.
MBA program can be full-time or part-time.
EMBA stands for executive MBA, usually for managers or potential managers.
EMBA may be an accelerated course that lasts for only one or two years for
part-time MBAs.

You are a ph.d. already. work in your own field for several years and
utilize the knowledge & experiences when attending b-school. why do you want
to get into a b-school right now? it just DOES NOT make sense.

To be honest, I have not met anyone with postdoc and study for MBA. And my
social circle should cover 50% of Chinese MBAs at top 5 schools from 2002-
2005.

I met a Kellogg or Chicago MBA, who went to B-school right out of PhD
program. of course he is really smart and he did both Ph.D. and MBA in the
same school, which made it relatively easier.

That is true. I met several MBAs with PhD degree, but they either did have
industry experience, or had very relevant research or administrative
experience. By relevance, I mean that their research had strong industry
connection, or they were in an administrative role in their research.
With the help of MBA, those people tend to have advantages in finding jobs:
equity analysis of certain industries, private equity especially in Pharma,
or startups in certain industries.
