I was in a conference on unconventional gas and several interesting things
happened that I would like to share and they might be useful for ChErs
seeking petroleum engineering positions.
1. There are the historically largest number of new graduates this year,
topping 1200 in all US petroleum departments, including about 95 Ph.Ds. So
far, 70% have been offered at least one job. The remaining 300 something
students are still looking for jobs. University faculty members are pushing
hard for E&P
