So true. I'm looking for a post-doc, too. Some of the CVs just amazingly
bad. How can you have 20 papers with 0 first authors? and some of them
simply just bad...and you are asking for a job...although, the Chinese
applications generally are a lot stronger than Indian's.

even before I give him the offer stating his adviser highly recommended him
to pursuit his post-doc in a CHEMISTRY lab...You know NIGMS and NSF can only
fund so many pure chemists.

I don't know why but I don't get that many Chinese applications, 1 out of 10
is Chinese and the rest of them are from India. Only 2 out of 50 have 1st
JACS or Angew.
We will see, my other candidate kind of shocked when I told him the visa
process will take at least 3 months or more.
