04/25/2013: Conflict of House Democratic and Republican Leaders on CIR
Agenda and Schedule in the House
As we have repeatedly reported, the CIR must pass the Congress before
the Congress goes into the summer recess after August because of the
political landscape which will gradually change when the Congress returns
after the summer recess as affected by the Republican party's internal
struggle for party nominations of 2014 election candidates that starts to
roll in gradually and the candidates and the party swifting to the right as
witnessed in the latest national election. Remember what happened with the
Governor Romnie? Accordingly, the Democrats want to see passage of the CIR
by August as stated by the House minority leader, Rep. Nancy Peloci, while
the Republican leaders have no motives to move fast as revealed by the House
Judiciary Committee Chairman. He disclosed his plan as to how the House
Judiciary will handle immigration reform. You guessed it! ONE-BY-ONE, PIECE-
BY-PIECE. The House CIR Group of 8 appears to be continuously working on the
House CIR bill, but at this point, the key is not when such bill will be
introduced but how it will be handled by the Repulican majority House once
the House bill is introduced or once the Senate passes the Senate bill. Do
readers see a drastic contract between the Senate Judiciary Chaiman and the
House Judiciary Chairman?? One acts like a rabbit and the other wants to
crawl like a turtle or even a snail. Unless the House leaders are pressured
by the public, the CIR 2013 can turn into a dream.
