wants to work in an environment where he can work on massive data and build
algorithms and logic to drive Recommender Systems!
Basically this person will be researching/ working/ building the algorithms
and mathematical equations for the software developers to build and deliver
to large internationally recognized Massive video predictive recommendation
systems!
Must haves: top tier comp sci school, published in this arena; links to
published articles.
Our client is seeking a Machine Learning Researcher with experience in
machine learning. This person will be responsible for researching, designing
, implementing, and maintaining algorithms/systems as well as providing
guidance to the company in its research decisions. The ideal candidate will
possess strong analytical skills in problem analysis, mathematical
formulation, algorithm development, and software implementation. Of
particular interest is someone with experience in data mining,
recommendation systems, cluster analysis, graphical models, or natural
language processing.
Responsibilities
· Apply knowledge of recent techniques and research to invent and propose
new approaches and methodologies
· Quickly learn and adapt to diverse tools and technologies
· Communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical
audiences
· Collaborate with other Engineering teams to ensure algorithms are
delivered into production systems
· Solve complex machine learning problems
· Perform large-scale data analysis and mathematical modeling while
integrating data from multiple sources
· Solve problems of large dimension in a computationally efficient and
statistically effective manner
· Develop algorithms that help users find the content they’re looking for
– or don’t yet know they’re looking for – based on explicit and implicit
data
· Quantify model performance
· Present ideas and communicate design recommendations to management
· Innovate, patent, and publish research material as appropriate
Requirements
· Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or other related
field; PhD preferred
· Experience with statistical modeling techniques, e.g. logistic regression
, SVM and SVD
· Comfortable working in a Linux environment
· Experience with large, sparse datasets
· Experience in Matlab or Octave
· Experience with at least one of the following: Java, C, or Python
· Experience with MapReduce, Hadoop * , or Amazon EC2 is a plus
· Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
