When one buys a cable service, the cable company will install special decoder
in his apts. Usually the terminal box is outside the apt but is very easy to
find. Different decoder will determine which kind of service he can get, such
as basic plan, standard plan or premium....
The decoder can send some feedback and the cable company can check it
sometimes.
