硕士生一只，暑假实习找不到，正在考虑能否到其他学校里的summer school学习一下
本校呆得太腻了。
有没有人有过这方面的经验？这个申请上可行么？

I want to make clear that, in RTS/CTS mode, if the data packet (which
follows the previous rts cts exchange) is lost, whether the consequent
retransmission will use a doubled contention window?

I think so, except that the current window size is equal to CWmax.

i think this JHU/NLP is a very nice one. you could get a lot, more than most
internships, from it

个人理解：
RTS/CTS的RTS发射需要contention,遵守所谓contention window double until CWmax
的规则。
如果RTS/CTS成功了，紧接着的data frame的发射将不需要contention,也谈不上什么
contention window.
个人认为，如果RTS/CTS成功了，紧接着的data frame却传输失败。 这时将开始一个新
的RTS/CTS过程。
RTS/CTS的RTS发射需要contention,遵守所谓contention window double until CWmax
的规则。
如果RTS/CTS成功了，紧接着的data frame的发射将不需要contention,也谈不上什么
contention window.
个人认为，如果RTS/CTS成功了，紧接着的data frame却传输失败。 这时将开始一个新

RTS/CTS/DATA/ACK is a complete phase for one data frame
to be sent and received.
When the destinated receiver receives a RTS, it waits
only for a short interframe space (SIFS) time to send back
CTS, all others (if they wish to send) will wait for
at least a DIFS time to start. DIFS is about 2 times longer
than SIFS, this guarantees that procedure is not interrupted.

It looks pretty nice. I am writing an email to ask for more information.
But it seems the summer workshop is for some inner circle of researchers and
aren't really for freelancers like me. I haven't done any serious work in
this field, I'm just interested ...
it seems to be such a crash course that whirls through different NLP
research
areas and I don't have the necessary background knowledge and skills

true that it's hard to get in.
The point is this is serious work and once you get in, you'll work with many
great people in this area.
