As I sit with my knees to my chest
I watch the sun mesh with the mountains
I watch the color blend together
Memories float through my mind
The first week of kindergarten
My first watercolor painting
The pride I felt when it was hung on the wall
I miss the simplicity
And how easily I was amused
Now life has gotten a bit more complex
Drugs, death, fights, suicide, love, temptation
The hate, the pain, the anger
But as I sit here watching the blend of colors
