这周末会有storm,请参加同学有心理准备, 注意防水保暖衣服.
冰斧, 冰爪, 绑腿,手套, 登山杖, 帽子, 頭巾,毛帽, 墨镜都要带上.
具体天气情况周五再更新.
“Now onto what all the talk is about. It is now almost certain that a very
po
werful and cold storm system will begin to move down the coast and forwards
our area by Friday evening so look foe increasing clouds and colder air then
. By Saturday the first of what looks to be 3 waves of heavy rain and mounta
in snow will move in. Snow levels with this first wave look to be near 4500
feet, dropping to 3000 feet Saturday night. A second ans colder wave arrives
late Saturday into Sunday morning with more heavy rain and snow. By Sunday
afternoon the cold core and most potent part of this storm will come right o
ver us. This will bring thunderstorms with hail and even funnel clouds with
the strong March sun aiding their potency.
The snow level then takes a huge dive down to between 1000 and 2000 feet. Ma
ybe even lower. This brings the concern of a widespread snowfall event for h
igher valleys of the I.e as well as the antelope valley floor. The high dese
rts will certainly see plenty snow even out in Joshua tree. So overall throu
gh Monday expect about 1.5 to 3 inches of rain west of the mountains then 1
to 2 feet of snow above 3500 feet in the mountains and 2 to 3 feet above 600
0 feet with even locally higher amounts then that above 70000 feet. For the
high deserts look for 8 to 16 Inches of snow above the 3500 foot level but s
everal inches may fall as low as 2000 feet, mainly Sunday evening. Things ma
y taper down a bit Monday but wrap around moisture will likely keep snow goi
ng in the mountains and a few showers in the valleys with the beaches cleari
ng. More details on all of this as the storm gets closer and of course all a
mounts are subject to change especially with the system still being so far o
ut. ”

****Major Winter Storm Alert****
Will just be focusing on our incoming major pacific storm during the update.
A very powerful and cold arctic storm will take aim and California and
bring increasing clouds and winds today before rain moves in after midnight
tonight. Look for a cooler day today west of the mountains in the 60s, with
upper 40s and 50s remaining in the mountains. A powerful cold front will
sweep through the area tomorrow morning through Saturday night bringing
heavy rain and snowfall to the area as well as very strong gusty winds, with
gust in the mountains in excess of 80mph possible. The snow level will
start between 6000-7000 feet Saturday morning then drop to around 4500-5000
feet for the heaviest part of the storm and cold front. Behind the cold
front extreme cold and unstable air will drop over the area causing snow
levels to once again drop to very rarely seen levels between 1500-2500 feet
through the day Sunday. A separate wave and the cold core of the system will
bring plenty of cold air and dynamics will keep heavy showers going Sunday
with a good chance of thunderstorms. Snow will fall in rarely seen areas and
its quite likely many areas of the I.E will see some flakes if not a mix,
with accumulating snow very likely in Beamount and Yucaipa and Sage. But
with thunderstorms in the area i really cant rule out some snow sticking as
low as 1000 feet including the Temecula valley and upper Riverside areas.
Some showers may continue in the mountains through Monday morning.
As of right now < possible<="" b=""> storm totals go as followed through
Monday morning. About 2-3 feet of snow above 6500 feet, with the upper end
of those amounts in the San Bernardino Mountains. 1-2 feet of snow above
45000 feet, and about 5-10" of snow above 30000 feet, with 1-3" of snow
possible above 2000 feet, and event a dusting down to around 1500 feet in
some spots. So by far the biggest storm of the winter, coincidentally on the
last weekend of winter. Rain totals look good with a good 1.5-3" across the
area with locally higher amounts. Along the mountains below 3000 feet for
when its rain about 4-8"+ of rain may fall. Highs Saturday in the upper 40s
and 50s west of the mountains and 30s and 40s in the mountains. On Sunday
look for some of the coldest air of the year with lower 40s and 50s for
highs west of the mountains and upepr 10s and 20s in the mountains. More
details to come on all of this tonight. <>
