I receive the unit from frys a few days early. I really like the look. The
mirror finish is really cool. The unit appears to be high quality. A hugh
number of power connectors. It supports SLI as well.
Well, I got my motherboard today. Connect it up with my old 350W power
supply, everything works, but the old one doesn't have PCI-E connector,
switch to the brand new Ultra 600W unit.
Wow, it was so quiet, I couldn't hear anything running..... after double
checking, nothing was running. The piece

I got the same problem as yours. However, I suffered a lot from this.
I didn't realize this is the problem of PSU. I exchanged 3 MBs(2 ASUS P5N E
and 1 GIGA DS3 1.3) 2CPUs(E4300), bought 2 memories(bullitex DDr2 1000 and
Kingston DDR2 667). Finally I found this is because of this FAR PSU!!!
I'm a newbie in building computers but now I leaned a lot from this
experience.
BTW, I have an extra retail E4300. I want to sell it for $90(including
shipping) to anyone on this board who wants it. It has fa

只能说是rpwt了。俺到手的这个工作的很好啊。也很安静。
你把电源拿出来单独试一下吧。短接20脚接头的14，15脚，电源就该工作。
如果这样不行，就是电源坏了。

I tried the two pin method test, it didn't work for me. However, the holes
on my 24-pin plug might have been a little misaligned. If it is very tightly
plugged in, the server will flash a second that no post. After fixing that
I was able to get the POST screen a few times without plug in any drive.
After more analysis, I discovered my setup might have a few tricky point
that could lead to the failure of the POST. But after a few twist, the
system is up and running.
The FAR thing is not DOA after

cdrom definitely will require more from psu, but from your experience, this
psu is pretty weak...what kind of twist did you make? is it just the
switching around you mentioned in the latter part?

俺没看出你从他的experience得出weak的逻辑？
从他的描述来看，说不好听的，借用小猪的话，人笨怪刀钝。
三个硬盘能post, 一个硬盘加风扇就不行，根本就扯不到5V上去，要怀疑也是12V。
如果接上主板还能偶尔有戏，短接14，15 pin启动电源怎么可能没戏? 连个test也不会
？先用那个好的350w练练手吧。
还是查查什么 4pin主板接口接了么？软驱线接反了么？硬盘光驱 master, slave jump
对了么？如果不是cable select, IDE线master, slave接对了么？
建议从最小系统查起吧。看他硬盘，光驱，软驱一起乱上，能搞清才怪了。
