This position will be responsible for performing aerodynamic analysis that
is related primarily to the multi-stage and multi-stage barrel of
centrifugal compressors. The position will provide direct support to and
function as the primary contact for aero analysis requests from Application
Engineering, Product Engineering and Service Engineering. This position
will also be responsible for supporting specific projects with the R & D
Technical Plan at our USA corporate HQ.
Responsibilities:
* Perform aerodynamic analysis for both single and multi-stage
compressor performance. This includes analysis of individual components
such as impellers, diffusers, return channels, etc..
* Use various performance analysis tools / software like Fluent to
analysis test data reduction programs.
* Participate in meetings related to aerodynamic performance for new and
rerated / modifications compressor quotations, active compressor shop
orders and operations during installations at the customers site. Be
considered a trusted companion and resident expert on centrifugal
compressors.
* Conduct risk evaluations and make recommendations related to special
performance guarantees.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements: Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering or
similar engineering / technical discipline related to aerodynamics. Two or
more years experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics design and analysis.
Excellent knowledge of thermodynamics and ability to be a "free thinker".
Excellent analytical, interpersonal as well as written communications skills
to compose customer presentations regarding risks and special performance
guarantees. Ability to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. General
understanding of 1 dimensional, mean line performance and Lost modeling.
Must be able to work independently and look for areas of process
improvements and new methods to improve internal response time to customers
regarding aerodynamic issues and concerns.
Preferred requirements: Masters of Science in Aerospace Engineering or
similar engineering discipline with an emphasis on turbomachinery
aerodynamics. Seven plus years experience in turbomachinery aerodynamic
designs, applications and troubleshooting. Instrument and lab testing
experience with some knowledge and programming experience with Labview and
Visual Basic. Knowledge of ASME test codes
