Dear Prof.,
I hope this email finds you well. This is gkhjqx from MITBBS and I used to
work in xxx. We had a close collaboration onxxxxx and so far the two papers
we published together have been cited more than 40 times!
I am writing to ask a big favor. I am applying for the US Permanent
Residence (Green Card) by claiming my research accomplishments, in order to
continuously pursue my research career in the US. The evaluations on my
research work from a top expert in my field are the key evidences of my
achievements. I wonder if it is possible that you would kindly write me a
recommendation letter to support my green card application. If I could be
lucky to obtain such a letter from you, the renowned and highly respected
scientist in the world, it would be of great significance to my application.
If you are kindly willing to write the letter, I will send a sample letter
for your reference. The process is actually very easy. I will have the
letter drafted and you could revise as you think appropriate. You can either
email the PDF copy of the letter with digitized signature or mail the
letter with a prepaid envelop which I will provide. Please be aware that the
letter is just for immigration purpose and it will not be used for other
usage.
I completely understand you are extremely busy, so it is fine you need a
couple of weeks to fit it in your schedule. Also please do let me know if it
's not convenient for you.
I really appreciate your time and consideration and a copy of my CV is
attached for your reference.
