192.168.*.* is private IP and not visible on
the internet. no machine can reach your computer
by using that IP from out of your network.
you need to let people use your router external
IP. the router receives it then pass it to your
interanl machine.

这些都设了，用了external ip address, 我把port 21 Forward 到192。168。1。102上
。但是不管用
别人连，老是在list，然后就disconnected.

你设的是Passive还是Port？如果是Passive的话，你需要open的
可不止port 21。

i have exactly the same problem, can't get the ftp working again. i am using
a netgear mr314 router, somebody mentioned to set up 1-1 NAT for the router,
but how to do that ne?
i did this too, only difference is i used a different port number and in the
router i forwarded that port to the desktop where the serv-u is running. then
i tried to connect to the ftp server at the 'port' mode, it doens't
work, wuwu
did you solve this problem yet?

Local PCs must access the local server using the PCs’ local LAN address (192.168.0.33 in this
example). Attempts by local PCs to access the server using the external IP address
(172.16.1.23 in this example) will fail.

but why? so the packet can't turn around and come back to the router once
it left or something? haha

我以前这样设置是好用的
但现在不知怎么的
不好用了
会不会和我的IIS的FTP有充突?
IIS的FTP倒好用

what is IIS ne? arh, can't take it no more, tried all kinds of combination, it
just does't work, i can only access it from my lan using the lan ip, but my
friend still can't connect it from outside using the wan ip, wuwu
