"in a room by yourself" can be interpreted differently
My first impression is that nobody else is with you, but not
necessary empty.

find room temperature or outside temperature?
let's assume outside temp,
My best answer is when "someone" leaves, check the outside temperature.
Two more thoughts
1.open a window
2.use smartphone with win8 os to check
