PhD student positions are available for 2014 fall at the Fan Research Group
in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at
Austin.Our lab works on an array of current-edge research topics including:
biochemical sensing, plasmonic-photonic hybrid devices, MEMS/NEMS assembly
and actuation, drug delivery, biological cell communication, energy
conversion and storage devices: supercapacitors, water splitting, graphene/
graphite
Students who have solid backgrounds in physics, chemistry, or engineering
with M.S. degree and proven publication records are encouraged to apply.
Two positions are available:
(1) students who work on materials synthesis with extensive experiences in
SEM and TEM characterization;
(2) students who have solid back ground in solid state physics, i.e. in
optics or magnetism
We welcome exceptional candidates with MS degree and proven publication
