我的情况是这样的。2007年7月来美，J1签证，一直是免税，以前报税是single状态。
2009年4月转为H1b签证，老婆H4在家没工作，2009年10月生了一个孩子。我本人一直在
美国没回去过。我现在报税还在Treaty时间内，但有银行利息和外汇交易收入，不知要
不要填报？另外，2009年我除工资以外，得到学校科研激励奖金，已被扣除了联邦和州
税，不知可不可以要回？我现在的主要问题是：我是应该填residence alien 还是
nonresidence alien，抱single 还是married，以及如何填上孩子？

一直想学钢琴，主要就是自己娱乐，没想能咋地，能自弹自唱就满足了。现在纠结是买
电钢琴还是二手钢琴。看到craigslist上倒是有便宜的二手琴（有三四百块的），但是

如果发明人合成了很多化合物，那专利申请书需要包括所有这些化合物，还是可以选其
中一些作为Example? 谢谢指教。

resident alien吧，因为J1两年以后就是resident alien了，H1也没有exemption，所
以根据substantial presence test应该是resident alien

都写上好，除非要省申请文件超长费。如果能用简单的话总结的不全列也行。但基本上
都列出较好，以后可以包括更多结构，扩大保护范围

谢谢zhapollo，我按RA填了1040，出现这个现象，不知有谁能给说说有没有问题。
我的收入按china treaty 2009年都给免了税，W2表上唯一出现的是我的科研激励奖金$
1906,这样加上我的银行利息收入，我填的adjusted gross income 是$3500，算上
standard deduction $5700，我的taxable income 为 -$2200，所以应缴税为零。
我的问题是，表上可以出现这样的负数吗？

You can fill the tax return as Married File Jointly(MFJ).
First, you must apply a tax id number for your wife.
Then, MFJ. Your child is your dependent.
And try to find whether you can claim the child credit.
