You have to remove the U-Bend to get it. But really it is not worthwhile now. The floss is very very unlikely for it to cause blockage downstream in the drainage pipe. The only very little chance for it is to block the U-Bend, but you can always remove the U-bend when it is blocked, but not now.

You can easily buy 拉起来堵水的 at Lowes and Home Depot. You will need
plumber's putty and plumber's wrench, as well as Teflon Tape or Pipe Thread
Compound, for this work. A much easier way is to buy a small wired sink mesh
. I found it easily and very cheap in Chinese dollar store.
