Walk away from the locked rate & penalty?# Living

We locked the rate yetserday but found out that the home cannot be closed
until months later, due to the seller's issue. The rate is locked for 10
days. Can we let it expire and do nothing? If so, will we have penalty such
as being charged with withdraw fee? For example, pay the appriaisal fee and
other things?
