I received a phone call a few days ago from the department chair who invited
me for a return visit for a faculty interview. I am wondering what a return
visit is about. What should I be careful? The chair did not mentioned a
chalk talk but invited my wife for a campus visit to discuss the two-body
problem. Does this mean I got the position. Is there anyone who can share
the experience with me? Thanks a lot.

宝宝开始牙牙学语了，会模仿我们说些发音。比如问他叫什么名字？什么颜色？（一律
回答“白”），什么东西在哪里买的？（统一回答Target）等等。。。我们当然都觉得
很好玩。
但是，他爹就很烦。只要是和宝宝在一起，就那么几个问题反复反复问宝宝。也不说别
的话。只是提这几个问题要宝宝回答。
小朋友有时候也不理他，估计也觉得很烦。我知道有些爸爸特别会和小朋友疯啊闹啊，
很会逗乐，我们这个就象个行动录音机一样跟在小朋友后面提问题。烦的。

我车比较新，但是没有BlueTooth.
我想把iphone 的歌曲通过车的音响播放出来，

Yes, I did an onsite interview a few weeks ago. I was told that they were
impressed by my work.

觉得你说的对。
小朋友还是对语气语调很敏感的。我一般都是跟他说说这个说说那个，有个
Conversation，然后把他听的懂的问题夹在其中，基本他会有回应，也很积极。但是如
果只是单调的没有语气的重复，基本是石沉大海。

It is definitely a good thing. Likely they will offer you a position. On
your return visit, gather as much information as possible. You want to make
sure if they have all the necessary resources for you to start your job.
Ask junior faculties whether their start was smooth. Are there any
surprises, meaning things the department had promised but didn't provide?
If you are going to start your own lab, bring a detailed equipment list as
well as the budget. You also need to bring your spouse's CV.

N手机上有 FM transmitter，可以通过 FM radio 播放，不知道 iphone 上有没有同
样的。好像 belkin 有听FM的 accessory.

看你车的长度，和天线位置，如果车比较长，天线又在屁股上，没戏

我之前几个朋友用的FM transmitter，都不行，只要短车河天线在前面的可以

FM transmitter最好用就是地下停车场了，一上路就是静电声噪声为主。

这和车的天线在前面，后面有关系吗？离发动机远近？
N900上有个FM transmitter amplifier 的东西，用了之后，效果不错。Moto的t505也
用过，效果也不错，其实这个东西就是加强发射功率。因为能完全替代,所以就把t505
退了。
我也在湾区，都比较lucky?

我买过一个90多刀的。不错。杂音小到可以忽略。

Moto的t505就是90多，不过 frys曾经卖过44。99，结果还是被我退了。你亏了，哈
哈，开个玩笑，不过，效果是不错地。
