这个我最近好像有点悟了。 其实核心问题,是在于推娃这事儿,到底是一个 question of normative (right vs wrong),还是一个 question of positive(good vs poor)? 这个没有标准答案,但基本如果不是天才天使娃的话: 如果你要 competitive,那就是个 question of positive。推 best in best。 如果你要 peace of mind,那就是 question of normative。Do whatever a parent obligated / supposed to 。 但如果是 question of positive,就容易纠结。如果是 question of normative, 不容易纠结但要放弃 competitive。 Basically we get what we paid for。 如果说我目前的 choice,我选择 question of normative。Peace of mind,不纠结。

非常同意。再补充几点。 Sports 也是一个考虑。如果跳级,在体育项目会有劣势。 如果不跳级,孩子在数学课上可能会boring。家长可以(A)要求到高年级去上数学课 (B)让老师给孩子难一些的功课, 或者允许孩子看别的书;or(C)家里不再补数学 知识,耐心等老师讲到娃的程度。 最后,如果孩子非常非常聪明,可以去申请Davidson Institute Young Scholar program。人家会免费给你娃1:1 service。跳级啥的,人家会给专业建议。
