Eliot had a nerve breakdown and went to europe for treatment before
he wrote 'the wasteland'. I had an interesting talk with a peer/part-time
cartoonist about him the other day. This Eliot was very serious about
literature and poetry and the ways of the old. he impressed me as someone
with genius AND with a pose.
'the first and formost thing in life is to have a pose." this is an oscar
wilde quote. maybe that is true to a literate professional. //grin.
Homer: i got the books in china but did not
