geotechnics deals with"mechanics of soil rock" and related analysis/design
issue. mainly used in hydraulic/civil projects to ensure slope/foundation
are "strong" enough to hold up upper structures.

Environmental Engineering of course deals with environmental problems,
it includes three major areas: water and wastewater, air pollution, and
hazardous waste. In a word, environmental engineering is aiming to
clean up polluted stuff in water (surface water or groundwater), in
atmosphere, and underground.
As far as the job market goes, it is moderate good.
