首先来看看作者是怎么定义文化的：

当然我们最关心的是人类文化：
the total socially acquired life-style of a group of people including
patterned repetitive ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.
注意这个定义并不单指文学，音乐艺术之类的“精英文化”，而是主要面向普通人
群的行为和思维模式（pattern）。
