今天早晨受到search committee chair 得来信，看样子是要发offer了？
Hi xxx
I hope all is well. I wanted to let you know that our search committee
has voted and that you came out on top. Congratulations. Our feeling was
that your expertise was the best fit for our program going forward. The
next step is that I will seek approval from our dean to extend you a formal
offer from the University. When the offer does come, we will ask for a quick
turnaround time.
1. 这种口头的，黄了的机率有多大？？害怕啊。
2. 仅仅有这个口头offer，我能去跟别的面试的学校汇报么？让他们快点process。汇
报得时候能不说给offer得学校是哪个么？
2. 最后的turnaround time指的是什么？就是类似只给很短的时间让我做决定？

会再给一段停留时间么？岳父母不是很想往返多次跑，刚好老婆妹夫要去加拿大访问
。就想这边延期呆满一年后再去加拿大转一圈回来，看能不能再待个半年。之前他
们有过多次来美都是一年后回去。

种被网贷平台套住越陷越深的人。
网贷平台被曝光是因为“裸贷风波”很多的女大学生因为自身没有经济来源渠道，又受
不住物质诱惑铤而走险选择相信网贷，其结果是很多女大学生还不上贷款，最后被债主
用裸照逼着和他们发生性关系，是他们不是他，债主自己和大学生发生关系后，会继续
用裸照威胁借款人做皮肉生意还贷，这不是危言耸听，国内过去两年曝光的就不下十余
例。
那些没有被拍裸照威胁的，自己和家人也经常接到借款公司的电话骚扰，甚至是威胁比
如：杀人啦，撞死你全家啦等等，父母为了给儿女还贷有的甚至倾家荡产。相比之下后
者还要好一些，因为钱没有了人还在，而第一个对与女大学生就实在有些残忍，毕竟人
生还没有开始就毁在这些高利贷手里。
这个问题会不会引起社会动乱？我们国家网络监管部门有没有权利监管这类问题？还是
需要法律或者公安部门进行管控？权责到底归哪个部门？我们国家到底还有那些法律需
要健全？欢迎大家在下方讨论。

turnaround time就是正式offer下来后给你考虑签还是拒的时间啊。
盯住但也不要让他们觉得你太求之心切就行了。

楼主的问题谁能会答呢？只有经历过这种情况被黄掉的，还要有一定样本才能回答吧，
估计美国也找不出来一个人经过过这个事情n>=2的
n>=1也很少，不过不是完全不可能

不幸我就经历过一次,几年前,当时面世回来第二天, 就收到口头OFFER,结果折腾两个月
WRITTEN OFFER, 最终被搞黄,后来他们招了另外一个CANDIDATE.直接结果就是我只好
SETTLE FOR A MUCH MORE INFERIOR SCHOOL.

话说系里投票通过了...
至于学校那边发生了什么，谁都不知道。
前几天，我偶然想起，去看这个系的网页，他们后来招了跟我一起面试的的一个senior，
人生就是如此，我现在也不在学术界了。。。

As long as you do not insist on something they cannot meet, they will try to
hire the top candidate. In fact, hiring the top candidate is a quality
indicator at some schools.
Let them know your wishes in salary and startup. But do say make me the best
offer, and I will consider it very seriously.
