張邦彥論文登上Cell期刊國內首人

專注生化研究10多年的中興大學生物化學研究所教授張邦彥在細菌基因轉錄研究有
重大突破，發現RNA聚合酶轉錄起始因子sigma，可獨立打開雙股起動子DNA，引起國際
生物學界重視。這項研究報告獲刊登本月20日出刊的頂尖生物專業期刊Cell（細胞學）
雜誌。
興大校長蕭介夫表示，《Cell》是與《自然》相同等級的國際重要期刊，張邦彥的
研究報告能夠刊登在《Cell》，又是國內第1篇，確是殊榮，他的發現將改寫教科書。
證實sigma可獨立打開雙股DNA
張邦彥指出，RNA聚合酶酵素複合體中有數個成分蛋白，sigma為其中之一，以往研
究sigma蛋白功能均須在其它蛋白成分存在的情況下探討分析，因此迄今無法確定這些
功能是否都是sigma造成。
張邦彥這篇報告引起國際學界重視在於發現sigma可獨立運作打開雙股DNA，更清楚
了解sigma的功能特性，以及在轉錄機制扮演的角色，對未來生命現象的研究有很大幫
助。
張邦彥原任職公賣局菸葉研究所，專研菸草香味，14年前到興大任教，教授蛋白質
化學和基因轉錄機制。他運用過去在農業化學實務累積的基礎，著手RNA聚合酶轉錄起
始因子sigma研究。3年前他注意到sigma可獨立打開雙股起動子DNA現象，於是積極研究
，獲得突破性進展。
個性內斂低調實驗室為家
興大生命科學院院長趙裕展指出，中研院過去曾在《Cell》發表文章，那是與美國
知名生物學者合作並在國外完成，張邦彥是獨力在國內完成這項研究而獲刊登。
趙裕展表示，個性內斂的張邦彥很低調，不願張揚，但對研究非常執著認真，一早
就進生化所實驗室，沒到三更半夜不會離開，同仁戲稱「連小偷想進實驗室偷東西都很
難下手」。

it seems there is not much difference for 0.2 to 1.0. if the authors want to
make them look identical, a much easier way is to use the same concentratio
of proteins in the differnt lanes. for people who do footprinting, running
19 gels is no different from running one gel.I guess it is much easier to
run 3 gels a day than changing the pictures in photoshop.

有些不正常的数距还更让人觉得真实. 烂校难发牛文,有很大程度是别人不太相信你做
的东东,是不是under 的学生做的数距啊? 当然没有人会这样直截地锯你.
所以没有必要大惊小怪.

Although it is hard for me to believe the authors modified the figures since
that part is not important and won't affect their conclusion, I have to say
that part is more than similar, it seems to me too they are identifcal.
If anyone want to send an email to Cell editor, my advice is to only
describe the fact, do not include subjective comments. They will check the
figures and find out.
There is no reason editor will hide for the authors.

politics than sceince. The two key players from NIH were more polititians

眼力不好,只在web上全屏看不出明显气泡来,band一样不足为奇,我做S35 labeling
的时候,出来的total protein band的pattern有的时候一模一样,不过更多时候
跑出来的形状会有点不一样.
估计reviwer最多也就是看到band一样,没注意气泡的问题自然不会有什么疑问.

这样分辨出来就不是完全一样的了吧
下面的+10到＋30的部分也可以通过多跑几次样伪造
别人即使怀疑也没法说什么了
